Pesos or US cash

Hi,
My husband and I are going to Puerta Vallarta in Febuary. 1st time!

Does anyone suggest that I have pesos before we go or it is okay to wait until we arrive. My concern is for the taxi from the airport to the hotel.

We have been to Cancun. The hotel employees and taxis seem to like US cash. Is this different in Puerta Vallarta?

You can purchase a voucher for the taxi on the right side of the south exit from the terminal with US cash or credit card. You can also get pesos from an ATM to the left as you exit the arrivals area,
