Airport to Bucerias

What is the best way to get to Bucerias from PV airport.. Buses ok? or Taxi?
Is it pretty safe to rent a car and drive around area?

Thanks for the reply..We are coming in on regular flight. Staying at a condo.. Our friends will be going a day ahead of us..They can get a rental car and have VIP pick them up and take to rental.They then could come back to airport and pick us up the next day...
