Can anyone tell me how far the bus from Nuevo goes into the downtown area? Do you have to transfer buses at the Walmart???

You do not have to transfer buses at the Walmart. Just stay on the bus and it will stop at the downtown terminal. You have to get off there, and it is about 5 blocks east of the Malecon. A short walk and it saves some pesos!pvnut (Jan 20, 2005 08:24 a.m.):

Maybe I was wasting pesos...We took the Nuevo bus as far as Plaza Las Glorias, then transfered to the blue and white \"centro\" bus and got of this second bus just after it makes its first left turn. This put us 1 short block from the Malacon, and thus much closer to Old Town, my ultimate goal.

It should take you down to the bus depot. But honestly, Walmart is not a bad place to transfer or catch anyother bus.
