My husband and I did our booking on our own. I did contact the GCP directly. They did gove me a name to contact for transfer. I thought it would just be easier to grab a cab.

This is our first time to P.V., does that taxi booth at the airport take U.S. dollars or pesos only ?

The taxi booth will accept payment in USD or Mexican pesos.

We do everything ala carte when we stay at the GCP... when we stayed back in April 2006, we paid i believe $12 USD ( but i have in my mind $15)... but then the trip from the resort to the airport is only $5 USD (50 pesos)... and yes they will take either or for payment... Like Jane says, if you come down on a package deal like Funjet or Apple Vacations or MLT Vacations, then there is a bus or van waiting for you to take you to your resorts...

I would like to comment on a recent experience in arranging for transportation from the airport to Punta Negra (way south on 200). Met 8 people arriving and arranged for a van with one of the girls in the booth, 63$ US for all including myself and significant baggage . Great experience, clean van, very nice driver and very helpful. He arranged to meet us in one weeks time to return to the airport and he was there on time for same amount.
Just to advise that some nice things can be arranged at the airport if you ask nicely.
