Is PV more expensive?

I recently returned from a week in Puerto Vallarta and it seems as if prices were higher on stuff in the mercado than in Mazatlan. Is this my imagination?
It still barks me to pay the high taxi fare upon arrival to PV. They gottcha, as most do not want to hassle baggage and trot out to catch a bus after a long air trip.
I plan to return next year to Mexico. I don,t know where..... Any suggestions? ....pez23

I have been to Mazatlan twice and P.V. 6 times. P.V. wins handsdown.

I suggest looking into La Paz. Prices are more \"Mexican\", that is they do not reflect the tourist \"greed\" that PV merchants seem to have. No $30.00US steak dinner :evil: . Not so many tourists go there, so it is not spoiled. Chuck... 8)

Lorrie and I were engaged in Matzalan...we enjoyed it... we came back another time and it was ok, then we went to Jamaica for five years and then we found Nuevo Vallarta and then moved in closer to Puerto Vallarta at the GCP... As Ozzy stated, that being said, we have been coming to Puerto Vallarta now for 14 yrs... we can stay for two full weeks at the GCP for the price of one week at Sandals Montego Bay Jamaica... so i know where i am going to spend my USD... and that is Puerto Vallarta... time and time again....
