Renting a Jeep for 2 days.... where to go?

I would head North towards Bucerias, then up around the bend to Punta Minta, then up to Sayalito and San Francisco... there are some fun spots up that direction for you to enjoy, dine, and lounge out on the beaches...

have a good time.... if the new roads are done to San Sabastian, you may want to drive up there as well. they were discussing this one of the last times we were down there. we flew up there on one of the tours...

The roads were not done as of 3 weeks ago. They are still driveable but the going is a bit slow at times.

Any places (in these villages) in particular?
Are there old roads to San Sabastian? How bad are they?
I was also thinking of checking out Yelapa... though I might be a waste of the rental car.

the road to San Sabastian is a dirt road, the VA tour lands their plane on it.. it is more of a cow path versus a road... it takes like 3 - 4 hrs to drive up there. in bucerias i would go to Dugarels for lunch or dinner... the others just look for the local cantinas and see what is happening. how is your spanish, that is one thing about some of these smaller villages, you need to brush up on your spanish... their english is asi-asi (so so)....

The road to mascota is done and easily driven. I have a friend wo takes it twice a week from La Cruz. The drive is very beautiful. Towering mountains, sweeping views, orchids and bromeliads in the trees.

Another place to go is Aguamilpa along the rio ameca. Take the road into mescales and keep on driving. There is a turn off for valle (dont take it). Just keep driving. There are several quaint towns along the river that the locals call \"ranchos\". The views are ver nice and the river snakes around.

The road to Punta Mita and then over to Litibu/Higuera Blanca then Sayulita and then San Francisco is completed. I take it everyday.

8) Tom aka Mr. Crown. The road is done, and there is a separate tarmac landing strip. Planes no longer land on the road! :lol:

We drove to Mascota in Mar. The road is all done except the 2 km detour around the new bridge.We went up to San Sebastion also. Its about 10 km of dirt road. We did this in a vw convertable that we rented from Prestige for $40usd/day. it cost us 110 pesoes for gas and easily done in 1 day.

How much is the Jeep rental going to cost you and who are you getting it from? Also any chance that they have automatics?
