Driving in PV is not a worry so no need to factor into the question...
Parking at the resort is free

How much should it cost to take a van or taxi from the airport to Nuevo V. (paridiso??) 4 full size people w/ bags

Anyone here able to estimate the cost of Mexican Auto Ins for a week...looks like about $10 a day but on the net its a little hard to tell if what is offered is additional to my own (which isnot good in Mex.) or actual Mex Liability Ins.

Any info. tips or suggestions are appreciated....

Check with your credit card company to see if they cover the required insurance. A large majority of the credit card companies (usually gold or better) do provide insurance coverage if you use their credit card to rent the car. I put the security deposit on my credit card and when I return the car if I decide not to put it on my credit card I just pay cash, but I had the insurance coverage the entire time because the deposit was on my credit card.

Be aware if you have a low limit on your credit card they do put the charge amount on your card up front and then they will take if off if you pay cash. Some people have not been aware of that fact and have found themselves with a maxed out credit card because their is a hold on it for the car rental.
