The Airport Gauntlet

The board had a post recently about the removal of all timeshare sharks from the airport by the first of the new year. Just curious if there has been any new news on this topic, as the supposed deadline is approaching. (Anything in the local P.V. media: Government announcement: Gossip on the street)? Thanks!

Not that I have heard.
When we go on the 5th, I do expect to go through the same shark tank as usual :roll:

I have no personal inside info and was just curious if anyone else did.

I know this has been beat to death but bear with me for a sec...the last time we were in PV 2004 I think ..after the grren/red light for customs we were in the shark tank after that inside the terminal were the official tour operators are the tour operators still inside or do you have to go outside now /if so where?

They will be standing by the luggage carousel with their handcart. Just make eye contact with one that you like. Make it clear that you know what you are doing.

I thought last year that we had successfully avoided the sharks, as we had arranged for a rental (Advantage) and we breezed by all of the chaos to the Advantage counter. No Problem - but hold on. The Advantage lot is off the airport property and a shuttle van escorts you to the Advantage lot. Guess What!!!! the Advantage driver, in an Advantage Uniform, was a time share shark. I thought she was just being conversational. Ha! Naive little me. But....we did cave in for a $200 decrease in our already low pre-negotiated rental rate, which was $19.95/night before taxes and liability insurance. So....if you are considering agreeing to a time share presentation - hold out for at least $200. I may try for $300 this year. That is my price for a morning of my time.
