My vote:

Vista Grill... it is just amazing! Go at sunset... the view is incredible and the atmosphere is pure class.
My favorite would be Vista Grill as well, but seeing that you mentioned \"beach\", I would suggest that you look at the La Palapa website. They are owned by the Vista Grill group and serve similar food, however the property is located on Los Muertos Beach, with views of the beach. But the views from some of the restaurants that are up high, like Vista are unbeatable. Others that have that kind of view are Barcelona Tapas, El Panorama, Hacienda San Angel(already mentioned and an incredible boutique hotel with an amazingly intimate setting, purchased by Richard Burton originally for his first wife.
No question the Vista Grill is a class act. I would also recommend the Hacienda San Angel if you want your guests to appreciate how Mexicans really live behind those walls...Janice and her rescued dogs adds a nice homey feeling. Get their before sunset and explore any rooms that are no occupied.
Both of our visits to Vista Grill were disappointing...ordinary, really. Without the view, it would be like many view restaurants in our world...nothing special.

The food, presentation, amazing ambiance and service at Cafe des Artistes are spectacular. We have had several memorable meals there. Ask for a table on the upper terrace.
Have to agree with the above 100%. Never had an \"attitude\" that I would rave about afterwards. Now good food, nice ambience, yes..
We will have time to try every one of these and we will be sure to let everyone know what we thought of the experience.
Thanks so much for the great suggestions!!
Remind me again where La Bistro is? thanks.!
It is on the isle before Old Town

We had terrible service in Le Bistro at noon. Even the manager just shrugged his shoiulders. I guess any restaurant can have a bad day.

We even had cold food at the Hacienda San Angel when we went with a party of 12.
