El Palomar de los Gonzalez- Reservations

Started January 1, 2008 · 12,784 views · 9 posts
Hi eveyrone- getting ready for our trip to Vallarta.

We are trying to make reservations online at: El Palomar de los Gonzalez however we have had no response from them in the past week.

We would really like to try this place our first night in Vallarta.

Any ideas?- It says they recomend reservations. I presume they mean more than a few hours advance? or maybe I am wrong?

It is our first trip non-AI to the Bay..so we are very excited about venturing out to all the great spots you all have mentioned.

:?:

Thanks in advance.

I would call them when you hit town. Often they are flexible and if you specify the railing on the pool level (our favorite) then they can tell you what time to come. Sunset for drinks then a leisurely meal is our best.

Also try The Vista Grill for better views and food (but more expensive).

Cool- thank you much.
My wife has asked me, to ask all of you a question

What would dress requirements be at El Palomar, or the Vista Grill or Teatro Lemon? What is normal?

We only ate out at Porto Bello (SP?) when we were in Vallarta 2 years ago..it was wonderful, but we felt under dressed.

Appropriate dress in these places is the same as Portobello. I have seen people eat there in tank tops but they are definitely out of place. Here we are at The Vista Grill:

How was Le Forte? We have had both good and bad experiences there. The food is always good. They can handle 16 guests but they do better when there are less.

They pitch very expensive liquers/cigars after dinner. Wine is included with dinner. Our worst experience was with 18 guests and Gilles was all alone (wife had gone to Guad). Food was cold and wine service was slow.
