Hi...my husband and I will be in PV this month. I am celebrating my 40th on the 20th of November. We are looking for a fun place with great food to go to on that day to celebrate my 40th.
Do you need a sweater for the evening there or any bug spray for the beach?
What is your menu like?
We will also be joining another couple that evening.

A great and romantic place to eat is La Panorama- It is downtown up the hill. any taxi driver knows. Go at sun set and if its not too cool sit on the roof. The food is great and the views of the town and bay are amazing!!. Strolling Mariachis band and all!.. Also not too expensive.

La Palapa is up and open, but there are lots of other good choices. El Circo in the marina is an amazing little place by a former assistant chef at Cafe des Artistes, which is also always an excellent choice (especially in the garden). Le Bistro, on the island in the river is good and has nice ambiance.

El Panorama was horrible and overpriced when were there a few years ago, and Le Kliff is pretty but a hike to get to, mediocre and overpriced ($12 daquiris).

I have just returned from a week in PV. We went to lunch at Le Kleef, which has always been one of our favorites. We have been there many times. I was shocked at the prices. The waiters were obviously embarassed about the price of the Margaritas and informed us the cost would be $120pesos, when we ordered them. Yes, they were the big size, but the price was way out of line. They had two lunch specials that day. One was $47dollars per person and one was for two people and worked out to $42dollars per person. This is way out of my league for lunch in a palapa. For my appetizer I had Tuna Le Kleef, which I have had many times before. It was half of a small can of tuna, mixed with salsa and sauteed in olive oil, at a cost of $80pesos. For my entree I had a hearts of palm salad which I have had many times in the past. It was three small shrimp, two pieces of canned hearts of palm, a handful of ice berg lettuce and cost $120pesos. We were accosted by a timeshare salesman on our way out. I am really sad to see what has happened to this place. Greed has taken over and will soon spoil one of the unique dining experiences in PV.

You and your husband have a fine restaurant. My husband and I celebrated his birthday there last night with your Romantic Dinner. It was a truly memorable evening. Everything was outstanding; the food, the ambience, and the service. We were very fortunte to have Ricardo for our server. He usually works as a bar tender but was given our table last night because he speaks English. He really added to the enjoyment of our evening. The chef prepared two lovely desserts (Mango Cheesecake and Creme Brulee) and presented them on a lovely glass platter with a birthday greeting written in chocolate.

La Palapa will be an impossible act to follow when we celebrate our 42nd anniversary on 5 February here in Puerto Vallarta.
