La Cascada - La Cruz Gets Air Conditoning Next Tuesday

For anyone looking for a fine dining experience complete with AC to escape the heat, La Cascada in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle will have 6 tons of AC starting next tuesday!

The restauant is closed Sundays and Mondays. Open only for dinner 6pm till 10:00 pm. Specialties include Thai Shrimp, Baby Back Ribs, Scallops, Filet Mignon, Salmon Cakes, Homemade Cheesecake... Lots of choices.

Enter La Cruz at the stop light (\"Calle Langosta\") and make a left at the roundabout. The restaurant is on the left side of the street a few blocks down next to Britannia pub. Restaurant is huge and mediterranian in appearance and there is a large waterfall in the garden section.

Amigo, what about the prices? Just would like to know. 8) prices are in the 90 to 140 pesos range for entres. filet is more i think. hambergers and pasta less. wine by the bottle is 130 for decent stuff. beer 14 pesos.

Also the kitchen already has a 2 ton AC so in total there will be 8 tons in the restuarant

In addition, a residence is above the restaurant and it has 6 tons of cooling - so there will be minimal loss of cool thru the ceiling of the restaurant and perhaps some additional passive cooling from above.

The dining area is about perfectly square and about 2,000 sq feet. New construction with insulating styrofoam blocks - so i am pretty sure it will be cool. And if by chance its not - trust me the owner will install more units. Sandy Baker loves to work but hates to sweat!

Anyway, speaking of sweating - time for me to go plant 50 palm trees - maybe the ground will be softer with the rains :wink:

FYI, the Filet Mignon is the best I have ever had. You actually get two small ones. The price is 240 pesos and worth every peso. The cheese cake is awesome and my husband loves the peach pie. We drive from Rincon de Guayabitos just for dinner and have recommended it to just about everyone we talk to :!:
