we just returned from p.v. yesterday and i just want to share my experience about this restaurant. WOW!!! let me set the experience for you. picture a 5 star restaurant, located in old town, on the beach (and i do mean \"on\" the beach), 6:00 pm, sun setting over the bay, you walk into an open air restaurant, dimly lit by beautiful light fixtures, and...the glow of a sunset over the water.

you are then escorted to your table, on the white sandy beach, lit by candle light, and surrounded by tiki torches.

as if that isnt enough...several waiters bring you a moist towel to wipe your hands and then hand you a menu.

at first glance you think, is this all there is on the menu. we were lucky enough to be able to enjoy festival. this is the time where a famous chef from another restaurant comes to p.v. for 2 weeks as a guest chef. the menu is somewhat limited but for a reason. what is created is carefully prepared and beautiful to look at. there is an emphasis on fresh fish and french quizine.

once you order your food there is time to sit back, dig your feet into the warm sand and toast to an amazing setting.

the food out weighed my expectations. the service was amazing!!!!!

I have a few questions regarding your review of Lapalapa. You wrote an excellent review. I was wondering the prices for the meal? I understand that you were there when they had the special chef. Did you have to make a special request for the table on the beach? Is that an extra charge? I read on one of the sites that they were very expensive. It was so good to read a positive review. Thanks in advance.

We went there on our 7th trip to pvr, we were very disapointed and would not recommend it to anyone. Food was Okay at best Beach was very nice. And the prices were high. We like fine dning but this place did nothing for us
