restaurants in the marina

Will be staying at the Westin Regina....would like recommendations for places to eat either in the hotel or the marina area.

I have stayed in the Marina area four times and just got back from PV on Jan. 14/03. All of the restaurants in the Marina are good, depending on what you order. It can get a bit expensive though. It is much better to catch a cab or bus to downtown and try out some of the restaurants there instead. There are other comments on this site about good restaurants in PV. My favourites in the Marina are: Los Pibes for steak, Las Palomas for Mexican, La Terrazza for italian, and Seafare for seafood. If you just go walk around before dinner, you can look at the different menus first, they are all posted outside the restaurants. Enjoy!

If you like gourmet food, beautifully prepared and served by a staff that is warm, friendly and so charming that you want to bring them home with you -- you MUST go to El Circo which is not far from the entrance to the Marina. Felipe Paleo has been called the best chef in all of Mexico by a number of his peers in Puerto Vallarta. We ate at many top PV restaurants while we were there the last two weeks and while places like Cafe des Artists, River Cafe, Barcelona and Bianco all serve fabulous food, the staff at El Circo wins our vote, hands down, for their quality of service. Prices at El Circo are modest in comparison to some of the others, as well. Their tasting menu runs 320 pesos (~USD 32) and is beautiful as well as delicious. And, if it happens that someone in your party is celebrating a birthday, just mention it to the staff and you will get the surprise of your life!! It actually brought tears to my eyes when they carried it out!! Be sure to ask for Enrique who is, bar none, the BEST WAITER in PV. Tell him Diana and her friends from New York say \"hello\" and thank you, again, for one of the most memorable meals we have ever had.
