THAT "SPECIAL" DINNER
Only have time (and money) for one great dinner (food and ambience). Should it be Cafe de Artistes (in the garden area) or Vista Grill? Thanks.

THAT SPECIAL DINNER
My pick would be Cafe de Artistes!! Great dinning experience.
Of those two, I would also choose Cafe des Artistes, but I like Trio even more!

And.........for a special experience that is not hard on the wallet, I highly recommend Barcelona Tapas.
your choices
ive recently heard from my customers that cafe des artiste is kinda sliding off base a little bit

vista grill has been doing ok lately with a pcectacular view

out of your two choices i would personally chose vista grill

on a side note there may be a few other restaraunts you might want to look into

if you like to enjoy wine , you will not find a bottle of wine under 480 pesos on there wine list ( bottle prices )
that being said, there wine cellars are quite extensive

Prices
A bottle of wine for $480 pesos ? - that sounds very reasonable . Maybe its plonk but that is one quarter what we pay here at a much less fancy establishment . Actually it works out to the price of a glass of wine in Toronto .

Edit : Sorry Bruce - you are right that is coiny - my mental conversion of pesos to Cdn $ is way off.
your right
thanks for the recognition of the wine prices

some people complain about wine prices amongst other things

by the way!

there is absolutely no new zealand lamb commng to puerto vallarta anytime soon
s if someone tells you on there menu they have new zealand lamb ask to see the factura to make sure because you pay more for the real deal

average price for a rack of lamb right now is over 400 pesos

porto bello is 440 trio 440 as well

im currently ordering another ton of lamb to take me into the slow season

bruce
That would explain why the lamb I had in PV last month was so awful... I bit into it and told my wife this is not young... more like mutton.

Price is going stupid Bruce.. Market price posted here in Saskatchewan by the POUND last big sale Week
January 15, 2009 was

New Crop Wool Lambs 90 lbs + $ 1.39 lb

under 90 lbs $ 1.39 lb

Hair Lambs $ 1.15 lb

Slaughter Sheep $ 0.40 lb

Maybe you should be importing it from here instead. Fresh frozen tastes the same as NZ.
