Marlboro you buy in PV are not the same cigarette as you get in the U.S. They look the same, but they are made in Mexico.

Not trying to fan the flames but just an observation from our recent Mexican holiday. The amount of smokers we observed was remarkable. Possibly because here in Ontario smoking and smokers are highly restricted . It must be a treat for you smokers to be able to light up practically anywhere in PVR. That said, most situations or locations were open air and the smokers made obvious attempts to keep the smoke away from us non-smokers.
Back to original question- maybe you could buy the smokes through duty free ?
