Excellent advice from the previous posters. We always do the same. We get some pesos from our local credit union before we leave, (about $300-400 Canadian worth in 20 and 50 peso notes) and then use the interac machines all over PV. Have never had a problem in all the years we have been going. Some of the interac machines dispense larger bills so are harder to change. ie: 500 peso notes.

Apparently the requirement for a 4 digit pin at the ATM has changed.
I posted that question on another board, and this is the reply from a person who lives in PV.

I think that was old info. Many friends of mine have told me that 5 digits work just fine
