Re:FOOD
Do you peel your grapes back home? (our grapes here come from Chili for the most part, same within the US)
Apples? (Here in Vallarta they are from Fiji, Washington State, Vancouver) Celery? (Imported in from the US)
Popeye Spinach? (Imported from the US as well)
Baby carrots in the bag? (US import again) Pre-washed salads....(yep you guessed it, imported from OUTSIDE of Mexico)
In essence, if you go to your grocery store back home, check where your peppers, bananas, blueberries (yes blueberries) strawberries, green onions and pineapples come from....most may come from Mexico and I never see anyone worrying about peeling, boiling and going crazy trying to prep a fruit or veggie back home.
Essentially, take the normal precautions but do not knock yourself out or freak out and not eat any of the fruits and veggies.
Use Mircodyne to soak lettuce and greens for about 15 minutes... everything else just wash well with soapy water, rinse and dry with paper towels. (this is what I did in the States for years, but I used a product called Fit)
People will tell you all kinds of things, but only listen to the ones who were here recently or listen to the people who live in Vallarta, but to listen to someone who has never been here or heard it from someone who was once here in 1974 is probably not a good person to accept advice from.
So yes, my warning is do NOT forgo something in spite of \"OMG do not eat veggies, drink water or eat at taco stands\", clean your fruits and vegetable with logic and enjoy Vallarta.
