SHOPPING FOR SILVER!!

Silver
There are plenty of places to buy and definitely plenty of vendors on the beach. Most of it is real, some of it is alpaca.

I personally recommend a fellow named Roberto on the south side, he has a tienda set up between the Plaza Dorada condos and the Burro Bar off Parque Lazaro Cardenas. Nice selection, very fair prices, excellent quality. He takes plastic too.

He came highly recommended to me from long time customers and I visited him this past trip - I have no hesitation whatsoever recommending him to anyone.

We also stay at GCP, I buy most of my silver right from the beach. Pepe or Pipi (he wears a red baseball hat) I have never had any of the silver I purchased from him turn green. I purchase a set of jewelery every year from Pipi and have never had any problems. Watch for the 925 stamp.

My husband says I need to buy a case and sell all jewelery I bought over the years on the beach.
Kathy and I have also bought various things from Roberto and have never had a problem with it being alpaca or any thing else. Like Jenny said, most is silver, and as Sherry said, look for the .925 stamp on the inside of a ring or bracelet or the back of a brooch. Chuck... 8)
If you are staying at the GCP see \"Fast Eddie\" on the beach. He usually wears a green miliary fatigue hat with \"Eddie\" on it. Kay always buys tons of silver from him and is authentic and he has really good prices. There is also a flee market just next to the Crown Paradise Club at the marina. Some good shops are there but you will have a hard time barganing when the cruise ships are in. IMHO Try Eddie.
