hi
First off congrats on your trip to pv. If you look through the posts on this section of the board you will find lots for you and your family to do. If you are taking kids with you there is a kids section on here to help find things for them to do. My suggestion is the malecon(boardwalk) walk it find a seat and take it all in. Its amazing.
Unfortunately, i have ask alot of the same questions as Condor and Chuck have asked. The more info you provide us, the more we can help you... how many people are traveling with your family (adults to children)... Vallarta is a beautiful city... Have you ever been to mexico... remember you are on the Pacific side not the caribbean side. On this side there is more of the \"traditional\" mexico. we are not all lights and shows like Cancun is. If we wanted to be part of Vegas or Miami we would go to Arizona or Florida... i realize you are excited about your vacation, but i do have to ask how much research did you do before you found this bulletin board. There is so much information in various posts and threads, just start clicking and reading....

let us know more information and we will guide you thru the TS shark infested waters....

Ok..we are staying at the Royal Decameron from May8-15th..2 adults and 2 teenagers (ages 15 & 16). Never been to Mexico and i have read the forums, any ideas on the best snorkeling place to go in the months of May...i know the water isnt amazingly clear, but iv never been anywhere tropical so i dont expect much...Also, what are some other budget friendly day trips or half day trips that are great fun?
First of all getting onto this bulletin board is the smartest move you can make to learn everything possible that there is to know about p.v. Just read all the links that are provided and probably any question that you might have has already been asked. If it has not been asked already, ask the question yourself. Whenever i have friends that are going to p.v. for the first time ( or the 2nd or 3rd time ) i direct them to this site.
Congratulation on going to p.v. for the first time.
there is a nice day cruise over to Las Caletas by day that should prove interesting for you and your family. it will be relaxing, fun, educational and fun... LOL Also there is usually a half day adventure to Mariettas Island that is a good location for snorkelling.... check thru this website, as we have touched base on this topic before... good luck and have a great time...
