Any of them! But then again, it depends on what you like.

Los Muertos: Old Town area, best for people watching, meeting people, shopping from vendors and things like para-sailing, etc. Great palapa restaurants/beach clubs.

Las Animas: water taxi, or excursion, no roads. Great beach, a couple of places to eat, drink and sunbathe. Horses, volleyball, vendor shopping, yummy pie.

Yelapa: Water taxi, or excursion, no roads, but now has electricity:
many places to eat, drink and be merry. Feels a little hippiy-ish, very mellow. Waterfalls nearby, horses, beach vendor shopping, good beach, really yummy queso pie. (also hiking into the jungle)

My favorite: El Anclote. North of PV near Marietas Island. Super soft sand, excellent water and beaches. Great places to eat, drink and lounge. The El Dorado is the best, with showers, bathrooms, and excellent food and inexpensive. Also boogie board rentals, kayaks and guys that will take you out on a panga to Marietas for snorkeling. The water is very clear here. Beach vendors may charge a bit more than Los Muertos, but very nice, and less traffic. Take a Punta de Mita bus from the hotel zone... and have a blast!!!!
