Best snorkeling site

Any recommendations for the best snorkeling site in PV? Are we better off just snorkeling from the beach (and if so, which beach) or a tour cruise(and if so which cruise and where are the best sites).

Try the little beach below the Lindo Mar. Nice cafe & a postage stamp size beach with good snorkling right off the shore.

we have done the tour trips and enjoyed them but here is what we have done in the past and enjoyed. take the bus to mismaloya and go down to the beach restaurants. have a gold drink and a light snack while you barter for someone with a boat to take you out to los arcos. we have usually paid 15-30 dollars total for somene to take us out for about an hour and they have all the equipment. we have done the same by taking the bus to punta de mita and hiring a boat to take us to the marietas islands. we made the same type of deal at a beach restaurant but a little bit more costly if i remember right because it is a little longer trip. enjoy

I too agree with Mogens here. Like i posted earlier, try Las Caletas day cruise for a nice beach area, and easy walk into the water snorkle. I have heard of places up by Punta Minta, San Francisco, and Sayulito where there are some nice quiet beaches to go snorkling from.
