Car and driver rental?

Would like to rent a car for a couple of days and go places, (Sayulita for one) Is it possible to find someone to act as a guide and drive us to specific places rather than doing an official tour?

Be adventuresome and ride the bus from Puerto Vallarta to Sayulita. It is a great experience and one I highly recommend. No need for a tour guide. From Wal-Mart take the green and white bus to Sayulita. Once you get to Sayulita, walk around and enjoy. It is a very laid back surfing town. There are lots of little tiendas. Then go to the beach area and rent some chairs and umbrella and sit back and relax. We would go to one of the tiendas and purchase a 6 pack of beer, sit on the beach and purchase tamales, pastries, etc. from the beach vendors. There are also restaurants that you can eat at, places to get massages on the beach, etc. The beach is beautiful and the water very clear. We went twice last Feb. and are going again March 16th with staff from the GCP. Enjoy!!!

In a word, yes. There is no problem traveling in the area by local buses.

We always hired a taxi or van with a driver and never worried having a adult beverage or two or three along the way. Well worth the extra money and have a great time! Do not want to spend the night in a Mexican Bed and Breakfast with steel bars..

We rode the bus everywhere - to Sayulita for surfing and in and out of town. We took a taxi twice - both times we were a little too tipsy to walk the distance to our rooms from where the bus stop was! (about a mile straight up hill!)

We loved taking the bus; it added so much to the adventure and being \"in the middle\" of everything.

We spent time before the trip reading about the area and deciding what sounded like fun. Then we figured out how to get there. Only 53 days to go!
