Obviously a much better view and chance to see the Whales from one of the tour boats - but yes you can sometimes spot them from shore . I always pack my mini binoculars and spend a lot of time scanning the bay for finny friends. :)

Thanks smitty for that tip with the binoculors. I would have forgotten mine.
