Jellyfish
When i was very young, I tried to lift a Portuguese Man -o- war ( incorrectly called a jellyfish), so that I could let my Parents see it.

To me it seemed like a very severe stinging nettle sting, pain lasted for an hour or so.

On my first visit to PV, I got a Sting Ray attack thru my Achilles Tendon, that was the most painful thing that I have ever had.

Luckily we all were stung by rather small jellyfish. It looked like swollen Morse Code written on our legs and arms. It definitely stung a bit but was manageable. I enjoy snorkeling so much that I dealt with it for sometime without leaving the water but then I saw a large one and thought it was time to go in. The stinging lasted an hour or two and then came back later that night after we had all showered. The marks were gone after a day or two but these were small jellies...A LOT of small jellies.
The small ones are the ones that get ya!
