Music on the Malecon

Can anyone tell me what music groups will be on the Malecon from May 12th to 30th. Is there any official listing on the web somewhere? :D

I think it is pretty much an open forum of wandering minstrals walking up and down the malecon. If you are thinking of live bands at the various bars and clubs, i am not sure if they book that far out in advance to set up their live shows. Maybe some of the other members of this BB might have an answer for you, but for all the times we have been down there it has usually been a hit and miss kind of thing.

Tom, thanks for your reply. I am thinking of the area on the south end of the Malecon, under the arches, in the outdoor arena. Some years ago I was told that those bands were booked with the city.

Over the years we have heard some top rated entertainment in that little outdoor arena but it is always hit and miss. It would be nice to know ahead of time who would be there.

Actually, all the spots on the Malecon, including of course the area around the arches, are booked in advance. There is a listing every week in the Vallarta Tribune, which can be read online at www.vallartatribune.com.

On many occasions on Sunday evenings you get Folkloric Dancing there. Very Colourful and entertaining. The dances are from many regions of Mexico and are in ful costume of that region. Get there early as it is standing room only later on.
