Pirate Ship

I just read on the tripadvisor forum that the Marigalante / Pirate Ship will not be sailing beginning May 12th through mid June. We are headed down the first week of June and our children were really wanting to take the day cruise. Has anyone else heard this? Thanks!!

:roll: Actually, I just found my answer on this site under Tours & Activities that it is not available from May 12 - June 26 b/c of routine maintenance. How is Las Caletas for families (kids ages 3 - 12) or any other recommendations?

Las Caletas by day would be just fine for the kids. The ride over can be a little wild...music, dancing, drinks...but otherwise a really good time. There is a lot for the kids to do once you get to Las Caletas. Kayak, crafts, swim, eat...there used to be some deer in an area but you had to hike up to them. It was a nice day for sure!

The morning tour to Las Caletas serves no alcohol until you land, only juices, water and coffee; not sure about the afternoon trip.

It is a great tour though, for families groups or singles. Lots to do, and plenty of space if you just want to do nothing.

My husband and I took a day trip to los arcos,las animas,and Quimixto. You get to snorkle, go to a waterfall and then off to a beach where you spend about an hour or so you can have drinks or go swimming or just lay around. This is a booze cruise though they open the bar shortly after depart and other than when leaving the boat to do your activities it stays open. We got to see and experience alot on this trip. It cost 40 dollars per person. You are gone from about 9:30am till 5:00pm. You also get breaky and lunch.Hope this helps.

totally agree jennybean that they should not serve the booze before the snorkeling we have some silly young ppl on this cruise doing some silly stuff and another cruise we went on a couple of the youngens lost there snorkle gear because they were to busy drinking to listen to the instructions.
