Question about the Yelpa tour.

Im VERY interested in checking out Yelpa, to see the waterfalls, on my trip to PV in Augsut. Im staying at Neuvo Vallarta. My question is,

1) why is it that when i look at the \"Attractions\" section of this board, they say that the trip is NOT avalible?
2) they aso say that the trip will cost $70. Im looking around this board and other people say that a trip to Yelpa will only cost $15. what gives?

please help this newbie out. Any clarification will be great. thank you.

No tour is necessary. Just take the water taxi from the pier at Playa de los Muertos or Boca de Tomatlan to Yelpa. Once there hike up the hill on a easy to follow path through the village to the falls. Now a lot of kids will try to be your guide or rent you a horse. Neither is necessary but if you want to help a kid out allowing him to make a few pesos go for it. Pass on the horse though. Have lunch on the beach & be sure & have a piece of Lime pie. Incredible. Spend the night if your schedule allows. It is incredibly peaceful at night. Bring bug spray! You will be sleeping under netting as the insects put on quite a show. Huge months & all kinds of creatures come out at night. Be sure & take a flashlight to watch the show or to get around as it gets very dark at night.
P.S When you return be sure & tip the \"Dock Master\" he kinda runs the pier as that is his only income.

is the water taxi from Hotel Rosita (speling) not an offical tour also? can i use that service to bring me to Yelpa?

Not sure exactly where it picks up there, but there is a water taxi that originates from Hotel Rosita (says Rosita on the side). From watching it many a morning I know it stops at Los Muertos pier, and according to yelapa.info.com it departs a couple of times a day for Yelapa. If you have the pesos I would imagine it would take you to Las Animas.

We went to Yalapa and wont be back, the man at the beach restaurant was rude beyond belief cussing out my wife because she messed up on the exchange rate. One of the beach vendors took off with my change after he said he would be right back and the guy selling para sailing was also selling weed great combo.

Just curious, do you know which resturant you were at? When we take people to Yelapa in our boat there are certain resturants that we do not take our customers to.

The boat was Princess Yelapa and the resturant I think was fannys. They had some dog that looked sick and under nourished hanging out. The best thing was our guide on the horses he was very nice. Oh, While eating a guy comes by and puts an Iguana on my head tells my wife to snap a picture with our own camera and has the balls to ask for 10.00 usd. Avoid this place at all cost. You want to see a real water fall go to Yosemite. lol We love PV and will be back.
