Sierra Madre Jeep Safari

Could I get some feedback on this adventure. My youngest wanted to do the swim with the dolphins but I am thinking 135.00 for 90 minutes is a lot of money.. so I was going to suggest this adventure as an option if it sparked his interest. If he really wants to do the one, the two boys can, but I can sure think of alot of other things I could spend the 270.00 it would cost for my hubby and myself on.. so we will just stay back and watch.

*** This is our 5 th straight year going to PV and every other year we take the kids (we take the to disneyland or something else to make amends - well somewhat ) and this is the year for the kids. We let them pick 1 adventure each. One of the boys picked the swim with the dophins and the other the pirate ship at night. My husband and I did the pirate ship during the day and suggested they night one for something different.

Thanks for any imput on this..

Well this past Monday my wife and I did the Sierra Madre Tour, and on Tuesday we did the Dolphin Swim. During the dolphin swim i saw a few young kids, around 6 ish, it is well worth the money. Youre never in danger, and being able to swim and pet the massive animals is thrilling. If you reserve through http://www.puertovallartatours.net/swim-with-dolphins.htm , it is 115$ each person.

As far as the Sierra Madre, for entertainment for young kids??? You start at Nuevo Vallarta, and then go to a local village, take a walking tour of this place, and then go a little bit into the jungle, and take a walk through some paths and look for nature. Then you go to another local village closer to the beach, and a woman cooks really good Taco for you. Then You go to the beach and get a buffet style lunch, and can swim, and then the ride back if you live in between Sayulita/San Fransisco to Nuevo Vallarta they will drop you off, if you are along the Path of Highway 200..(Tequila on the way back)

I had fun, because it was a culture experience, and the kids might have fun because the trucks are extremely bouncy. Then the beach as well is nice, we couldnt swim because it was extremely turbulent waves, so we could only stick our feet in the water. My wife and I had fun, even with the free tequila at the end, and there were kids there, but as far as thrilling, I would go with the Dolphins, up to you....

I saw on the website that from (MAY 1ST TO JULY 3RD, 2006) the Pirate Ship is under maintenance.... Never been on it....
Thanks for the replies.. Yes I guess I should of mentioned the ages of the boys.. they are 17 and 10 - (I have a 19 year old also that wasnt able to come with us this year)

We have taken them to fiestas as well.. they are fine with the partying atmoshpere - thanks for the heads up.

Boy a lot to ponder.. our 10 year old really is talking about the dolphins.. maybe I should just leave well enough alone!

We are heading down there on June 29th (next Thursday) and returning July 8th (the following Sat) Cant wait!
