Snorkeling In PV

Hola all PV fans!
We will be in PV for 2 weeks starting Jan. 28th., our 4th. time. I am hoping to do some snorkeling, though I have been disappointed in the past trips with the snorkeling, due to poor visibility in the water. Mostly I think this has been due to the high wave action (at least one year i was there was an el nino year), churning up the sand. I know that if i can find a sheltered area where the waves are not coming straight in from Japan, the water should be clearer. How has it been recently? Anybody care to comment? Where is the best snorkeling in the PV area? The best snorkeling I experienced in my previous 3 trips was at Majahuita, though there were quite a few jellyfish and I got stung.

I lived in Vallarta for 5 years and when I was there the name of a great snorkelling shope was Mismaloya Divers. They are located in Mismaloya, about 15 mins outside of Vallarta.

From Nuevo, ask if the charter boat will come to pick you up and drop you off. Saves the delays of a bus or taxi ride. We have done that when going fishing or touring the south shore from Los Tules.

I will be arriving there on the 28th as well, for the 1st time, and was wondering about the water temperature. Planning on doing a lot of swimming/boogie boarding/and snorkeling. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

hola, we went snorkling for the first time last year, we went with the Caletas day tour which also included the cost of all inclusive drinks on board and on the intire time you are at the resort like beach also snorkling for app 1 hour and equipement.The tours last about 5 to 6 hours from departure from the Marina . The water was just beautiful and we were able to see many kinds of fish and no jelly fish around.
The tour guides were very helpful .high recomende this tour. We are leaving on the 31 of jan for 2 weeks and are thinking of going again.
