Snorkeling

I would love to find a nice beach close to PV for snorkeling. I know all the tour operators have there boats that go to all these great places, but Im really looking for something quieter. Ive heard that Yelepa is nice and accessible from PV by water taxi. Others say its not so great. Then Ive also heard that there are other places as well.
Anyone have any thoughts on where one can go?

We went snorkeling off of Mismaloya beach. We got one of the boat operators to take us out to those big rocks in the ocean... snorkelling was okay.

I wished I had my own snorkel gear back then. I had trouble with my mask so snorkeling was hindered considerabely as I was trying not to drown in my mask. Now I have my own gear and it is much more enjoyable. :D

Head south to the Lindo Mar Resort. For the price of drinks/snacks you can use the beach in front of the hotel to snorkel - lots of rock formation right off the surf with a nice sloping beach. Plenty to see.

Plus the food/beverages at the LM are great.

Further south you can snorkel off the beach at Playa Girasol Sur area.
