surf casting puerta vallarta

I will be PV in december any info on surf casting from the beach

Last week while we were in Puerto Vallarta my husband and our friend each paid $ 100.00 Canadian to go fishing from a boat. They caught about 9 fish. :)
Our friend Mel went to PV Walmart and bought a fishing rod for about $20.00 Can. and he fished from the rocks by Las Palmas Resort. He caught about 9 fish. They were a tiny bit smaller than the other guys fish :D At the end of the week He found a box packed his rod and took it home with him for his kids.

All of the men enjoyed their day no matter which way they chose :) and... all had BIG fishy stories to tell.

I saw fishermen everyday sitting on the rocks by the Ocean fishing.

btw our Resort chef cooked up the fish and made a special platter for our table of about 10 people . Very good. The fish was called beautiful fish. Bonita?
The meat was brown and fleshy kind of like tuna.
9 fish fed 10 and then we served the remaining fish to several Resort guests.
One lady from another table said the fish had made her meal. :D

we were there about 3 weeks ago and saw several people catching fish in the surf along the malecon where it is rocky, in front of the hotel rosita on the breaker rocks at the begining of the malecon, and down off of the pier. all appeared to be having very good success

I rented a panga a few years ago and told them that I wanted Rooster fish. We left the marina and went around the point,Pinita, and fished right offshore of a small town. We picked up several Roosters within 30 ft of shore. I likely would have saved a hundred bucks,or so, by catching the autobus to Saulita and surf casting. We trolled dead mackerel qwuite fast,so a fast retrieve a couple feet deep would work too.
Lunch was provided and it turned out to be our first fish in lemon juice and worchestershire ala ceviche. Smile, chew a small bit ,and say that was great.
