Tours to other cities

I was wondering if there is the option to take tours to other Mexico cities while in PV? Also how far is PV from Acapulco and the cliff divers?

I will only comment on Acapulco. Look at a map of Mexico and look at the distances from Puerto Vallarta to Ixtapa/Zihuatenejo to Acapulco. I will tell you that we took a day trip to Acapulco from Ixtapa and it was 3 hours by private van; only 150 miles but you have to slow down through all the villages as they all have topes (speed bumps that will knock your teeth out) and we went through 2 military checkpoints (machine guns intact). So I can imagine that Acapulco would be out of the scope of trips from PV, unless you wanted to go by commercial plane.

I have been reserching land trips to several destinations in Mexico as I am going to Mazatlan, PV and Acapulco in April. The bus ride from MZT to PVR is about 7 to 8 hours and costs about $30US. The bus to Acapulco is about 18 hours, I believe, and costs about $55US. However, if you book the trip in your original travel plans, you can fly Aeromexico from PVR to ACA for about $85 more-well worth it. Let me know if this helps.
