I have a 5 year old who is very interested in trying the Dolphin Kids activity through Vallarta Adventures. Has anyone tried this? How was it? Thanks

hi first timer if you look on here theres a post of swim with the dolphins. I wanted to reply to you so you didnt think you were being ignored. There are mixed emotions on this topic. I personally did the swim and it was incredible a dream come true. As for kids they have a show they put on or a kids program where they meet the trainer and the dolphin from what I saw it was more learning about the dolphins and I believe they did get to touch them.

So my suggestion is to read a couple of the other posts.
Thanks for the reply. I have been reading everything I can find, but most of the inforamation is about the adult groups or the group for older kids. I have not seen any reviews of the program for 4-8 year olds, but from what I read on the vallarta adventures website I think you are right that they learn about dolphins and touch them. It is less invoved than the other options as far as contact with the dolphins and time in the water, but I am hoping it will be great for a 5 year old. If anyone has kids who have done this, I would love to hear what your kids thought of it. Thanks again

Todd,

When are you going to PV?

We got in 2 weeks with our 4 year old daughter and we are registered to do the swim and she is scheduled to do the Dolphin Kids one. I can report back after our trip.

Carina,

We leave April 12th, so about 3 1/2 weeks. If you will be back and have time to do a review, I would love to hear what you have to say. Thanks

My family and I have been swimming with the dolphins at the Splash water park since my daughter was 4. My daughter looks forward to this activity every year. The first year, she was small, so my husband assisted her in the water. Now my daughter swims on her own. I find it very therapeutic and fun! This year (April 2006) we are taking the Caletas Day Tour and will swim with the Sea Lions. Review to follow upon my return.
I asked this question before we went and thought I should update it now that we have returned. The Dolphin Kids program in Nuevo Vallarta through Vallarta Adventures was excellent. Good supervision and trainers. The kids first went to look at a mother and baby before they headed up to the \"pool\" to meet the dolphins. The kids get to touch, pet, kiss, and learn about the dolphins. The kids do not need to be able to swim, the water is only about a foot deep where they are. The ages for this program are 4-8 years old and I highly recommend it.
first off welcome back and glad to hear the kids had a good time. Just one ? when you were there had they named the baby dolphin yet. Tey hadnt when I went so Im just curious thanks.
thanks for trying I was just curious :D
