Whalewatch season...just two months more!!

If you go out whalewatching, please make sure that you will go with a company which has the permission to do so. There a a lot of people selling the tour without permission and unfortunatly they do not have any respect for the whales, which means that they come too close and chase them away. Some companies even do have the permission but still it seems that the pesos they earn are more important than the whales. Princess Yelapa for example.. please NEVER go on a tour which they call whalewatching. They better rename their tour Whalechasing. Vallarta Adventures and Open Air Expedition are good companies where they have proffesional guides (biologists) on board and good captains. Please, do not go with anyone who does not have the red whale flag aboard. The whales usually arrive at the end of november, but whalewatching is allowed from december the 15th.

You are forgetting another good company - Wildlife Connection. They are the ones, along with the local government branch ecology, are the ones that decide who receives permits and who do not (and how many each receive). Keep in mind, the smaller the company, the more unique and whale-friendly the tour.

Sorry, yes your right. They also are specialists and very good..forgot about them. Although I do not agree about the smaller the company... I went with Vta. Adventures a couple of times and they are very proffesional.. and the company is is not so small. Well, just enjoy the season, for sure I will!

We will be in PV Nov 23-Dec1. I was looking a the Vallarta adventure tour leaving from Nuevo Vallarta. Is it too early and would we be wasting our money? We have never been Whale watching.
