Where are best snorkeling spots.

Started January 6, 2002 · 11,747 views · 5 posts
I have generally had had bad luck finding good snorkeling opportunities on the Mexican west coast but PV has seems to have much better water than most places. Any tips on good snorkeling spots would be much appreciated. Also, how is the water temp in late January-early Feb?

Thanks!

Re:Where are best snorkeling spots.
You mention hiring a panga boat from Punta Mita. Any idea how much that would be? And if one would have to provide snorkeling equipment?

Are there spots along the north shore (Neuva Vallarta to Punta Mita) that offer good (aot best) snorkeling?

We are a family of 5 with younger children. The day long tours would probably be too much for them (not to mention the cost in general). I would prefer to go for a shorter, smaller time at a more reasonable cost.

Jennybean, thanks for the info. We were planning to explore up north a little and that sounds like a wonderful idea.

I took a whale watching/snorkelling tour with Vallarta Adventures. They go to the Marietas islands. It was a full day, but very interesting. www.vallarta-adventures.com
