Puerto Vallarta is hosting a “8M for Equality” 5K race on March 8, 2026, to celebrate International Women’s Day. The event is a symbolic call for a life free of violence and a future with equal rights for all women and girls. It is completely free and open to everyone, including men, who are encouraged to participate as allies in the fight for gender equality.
The race kicks off at 7:30 AM at the Agustín Flores Contreras Stadium (“El Estadio”) and will follow a 5-kilometer route along Francisco Medina Ascencio Avenue. Because the event is designed for the community, participants are welcome to walk, jog, or run at their own pace. The city has declared the race “cardio-protected,” meaning medical teams, ambulances, and hydration stations will be stationed along the path for everyone’s safety.

This activity is part of the “Year of the Woman 2026” program in Puerto Vallarta, which aims to strengthen the security and empowerment of women throughout the municipality.
