Canadian Flights Boost Vallarta Air Traffic

The Puerto Vallarta International Airport is anticipating a year-end close with a significant rise in both operations and passenger flow, driven strongly by the resilient Canadian market. Omar Gildardo Torres Grajeda, the airport’s director, shared this positive outlook during his recent annual results presentation to the airport’s Consultative Council.

Torres Grajeda explained that the demand for flights from Canada has notably strengthened, evolving into one of the principal engines of growth for the destination over the coming months. While the U.S. market has shown a slight stabilization, the robust interest from Canadian travelers is fueling the airport’s expansion.

This increased demand is evident as Canadian airlines have substantially increased their requests for flight frequencies into Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, reflecting the sustained popularity of the region within that market. Furthermore, the domestic flow of passengers also maintains a positive upward trend, cementing the terminal’s position as one of the most dynamic on the Mexican Pacific coast.
