Construction To Begin on Bridge Connecting Bahía de Banderas and Puerto Vallarta

Construction on the vital “Amado Nervo” bridge is set to begin today, Monday, June 30th. This new infrastructure will directly link the municipalities of Bahía de Banderas and Puerto Vallarta, passing through San Vicente and Ixtapa, as announced by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT).

The bridge, estimated to span 800.4 meters, represents the final missing link to fully connect the two cities, as the highway on both ends is already complete. Designed with four lanes (two in each direction), the project aims to significantly reduce traffic congestion on Federal Highway 200, thereby enhancing mobility and connectivity across the metropolitan region.

Beyond the bridge itself, the comprehensive project also includes the rehabilitation of existing road infrastructure, public lighting, and sidewalks on both the Bahía de Banderas and Puerto Vallarta sides, with an anticipated completion date set for 2026.
