Mountain biking enthusiasts are gearing up for the very first Sierra-Mar XC Mascota-Vallarta Marathon, a spectacular new event designed to promote active lifestyles and highlight the stunning inland municipalities of Jalisco. The competition offers a challenging and rewarding journey from the mountains to the coast.
Scheduled for Saturday, October 25, the marathon challenges participants to cover a demanding 100-kilometer route. The ride begins in the charming Pueblo Mágico of Mascota, weaves through the majestic mountains of the Sierra Madre Occidental, and culminates at the iconic Malecón boardwalk in Puerto Vallarta—a finish line providing breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.
The very first Sierra-Mar Marathon is structured to welcome a diverse group of cyclists. It features three distinct categories for both men and women: XC (Cross-Country), e-Bike, and Gravel. This inclusive approach ensures a competitive yet accessible event for various types of riders. To motivate top performance, the event is offering significant incentives: the top three finishers in each category will receive cash prizes. Currently, registration for the marathon is open, inviting local and international riders to take on this unique challenge.
