Puerto Vallarta is gearing up for a two-day celebration of Mexico’s Independence Day, with festivities kicking off on September 15th and continuing through September 16th. The “Fiestas Patrias” celebrations offer an unparalleled opportunity for locals and tourists alike to immerse themselves in Mexican culture, with a rich blend of traditional food, music, and patriotic spirit.
The main hub of the festivities will be the Main Square in downtown PV. The square will be transformed into a lively family celebration featuring live music, traditional dancing, and authentic Mexican cuisine. Guests will have the chance to enjoy local delicacies and sample a variety of spirits, including Tequila and Raicilla.
The highlight of the first night will be the traditional “Grito de Independencia” (Cry of Independence), which takes place around midnight on September 15th. This powerful and emotional moment will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display over Los Arcos del Malecón, illuminating the city’s iconic waterfront.
The celebration continues the next day with the annual Independence Day Parade. The parade will make its way along the Malecón boardwalk, featuring a colorful procession of school contingents, firefighters, charros, and escaramuzas, showcasing the community’s festive spirit and national pride.
