Puerto Vallarta is rolling out the red carpet for the television industry as filming begins on Mujeres Valientes, a new 20-episode series spotlighting female empowerment.
Mayor Luis Ernesto Munguía González joined the production crew for the official clapboard ceremony this week, welcoming the team and underscoring the project’s value for tourism promotion. The series will shoot scenes at iconic Vallarta locations including the Malecón, local beaches, the Mirador de la Cruz viewpoint, hotels, and downtown businesses.
Produced by Paco Solares under the Filma Jalisco program, the production is expected to hire local talent, services, and suppliers, channeling revenue directly into the community. Alejandro Tavares, director of Filma Jalisco, noted that screen tourism boosts destination visibility and confirmed negotiations are already underway to bring additional film projects to Puerto Vallarta in 2027.
Each of the 20 standalone episodes will be filmed not only in Puerto Vallarta but also in Guadalajara, Tequila, Tapalpa, Zapotlanejo, and Guachimontones, weaving a statewide narrative of empowered women and Jalisco’s diverse landscapes.
