Bahía de Banderas is set to enhance its appeal to both residents and tourists with the development of a new theme park spanning approximately 15 hectares. The municipal president, Héctor Santana García, recently announced this ambitious project, which aims to offer a wide variety of recreational spaces for all to enjoy.
The planned theme park will be strategically located along the highway corridor connecting the communities of Mezcales and San Juan de Abajo. While official start dates for construction and details regarding the bidding process have not yet been disclosed, the project is currently in the development phase under the direction of the municipal Public Works Department.
Preliminary plans for the new Nayarit theme park include a miniature train, an auditorium, extensive green areas, a monumental fountain, children’s play areas, an artificial lake, and ample wooded zones. Municipal President Santana García estimated the cost of the project to be around 60 million pesos, excluding the land value, and has called on local landowners to offer potential sites for sale.
