Municipal Public Works Director Edén Castillón announced that the broader urban improvement project has reached an impressive 80% completion rate. By opening this walkway now, the city is ensuring that the thousands of residents and tourists flocking to the downtown area can enjoy a smoother, more direct route to the heart of the festivities.
The decision to restore pedestrian flow was made to enhance mobility and safety during one of the city’s busiest weeks of the year. While construction crews continue to put the finishing touches on the area, the open path provides a much-needed corridor that allows the public to bypass previous detours and walk comfortably toward the coast.
Safety remains a top priority as the project enters its final stage. The remaining 20% of the work—which includes complementary aesthetic and structural details—will continue according to a planned schedule.
