Puerto Vallarta Airport Expansion Nears Halfway Mark

The construction of the New Terminal Building at the Puerto Vallarta International Airport has reached a significant milestone, achieving 45% completion. This extensive expansion project is designed to boost the airport’s operational capacity by an impressive 130%, preparing it to support the region’s burgeoning tourism industry for the next two decades.

Crucial infrastructure elements, including systems that connect the terminal to the runway and boarding areas, are already in place. Once completed, the NET is expected to significantly improve passenger flow and reduce travel times. The modern design, conceived by the architectural firm LBR&A, incorporates advanced technology to accommodate an increase in operations and enhance the overall travel experience for passengers.

This expansion is part of a broader investment strategy, with 6 billion pesos allocated during the 2020–2024 period, and an additional 3.6 billion pesos earmarked for the current five-year plan.
