Puerto Vallarta’s cultural calendar for the last five months of 2026 is taking shape, with a free public program designed to give visitors and residents more reasons to explore the city beyond sun-and-beach activities.
The Instituto Vallartense de Cultura presented the August-to-December agenda with cultural organizers, the hotel sector and municipal and state representatives. According to local reports, the program includes seven major free events plus neighborhood cultural caravans every 15 days, starting this Saturday at 5:00 p.m. in colonia Monte Everest with theater and workshops for children and young people.
For travelers watching the Puerto Vallarta events calendar, the first highlighted date is the Violincheli Brothers Tour México 2026 on Sunday, August 23, at 7:00 p.m. at Hotel Friendly. September brings the Encuentro Nacional de Mariachi Tradicional, with reporting that lists September 9-10 and details September 9 appearances at the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe at 7:00 p.m. and Plaza de Armas at 8:00 p.m. A new Hotel Mío gallery is also planned for September.
The late-year schedule continues with Fiestas Patrias on September 15, the Concurso Estatal de Mariachi Infantil y Juvenil from October 14-17, the Day of the Dead festival from October 30 to November 4, and a December Christmas festival. The city says the goal is to position Puerto Vallarta as a cultural destination as well as a beach resort, while keeping the events free and accessible.
