Puerto Vallarta Paints the Town in Rainbow Colors

In a vibrant display of solidarity, Puerto Vallarta joined the Pride 2024 festivities with the “Pinta la Bahía de Colores” initiative. Led by Mayor Lía Saraí Castro Diaz de León, the event involved painting crosswalks with the colors of the LGBTQ+ pride flag.

The mayor inaugurated the first colorful crosswalk at the Glorieta de Los Indios intersection in San José de Valle. This symbolic act marked the beginning of a month-long celebration of diversity and inclusion in Bahía de Banderas.

“June is a time to honor the LGBTQ+ community and their ongoing fight for equality and respect,” stated Mayor Castro Diaz de León. “Our city is proud to embrace diversity and stand in solidarity with all members of our community.”

The “Paint Bahía de Colores” initiative serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of visibility and acceptance. It’s a testament to the city’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
