Puerto Vallarta is gearing up to host the ninth annual Book Fair and Literary Gathering from January 23rd to February 2nd. This year’s event, themed “A Voyage Through the Sea of Books,” will offer a wide range of cultural activities for all ages, including workshops, presentations, and literary discussions.
The festivities will take place at various iconic locations throughout the city, such as the Plaza de Armas, the Malecón, and the Cuale Cultural Center. The official opening ceremony will be held on January 23rd at 10:00 AM in the Plaza de Armas, followed by musical and literary performances.
Highlights of this year’s event include a marathon reading of Juan Rulfo’s classic novel, “Pedro Páramo”; a workshop on sound poetry led by Daniel Malpikka; book presentations such as “North Korea” by Rubén Cantor and “Memories of Silence II” by Edith Velázquez; a children’s workshop titled “Listening to Nature”; and a talk on “Cultivating the Habit of Reading,” which aims to foster reflection on the importance of literature in society.
