Whale Puts on a Show in Puerto Vallarta

A lucky group of tourists aboard the iconic pirate ship, Marigalante, were treated to an unforgettable spectacle when a humpback whale performed a series of impressive leaps right in front of their vessel. The breathtaking moment was captured in a photograph by Rodrigo Maldonado and quickly went viral on social media.

Humpback whales are a common sight in the waters of Puerto Vallarta during their annual migration, and this year has been no exception. These majestic creatures have been spotted frequently near the Malecón, delighting locals and tourists alike. Just yesterday, a video surfaced showing a whale calf performing similar acrobatic feats in the same area.

The whale-watching season in Puerto Vallarta typically runs from December to March. During this time, hundreds of humpback whales migrate to the warm waters of the Pacific to mate and give birth. Visitors can often witness these incredible animals performing a variety of behaviors, including breaching, tail slapping, and singing.
