Puerto Vallarta’s 4th Mango Festival at Lázaro Cárdenas Park (July 2nd, 2022)

On Saturday, July 2, 2022, the fourth Mango Festival will be held at Lázaro Cárdenas Park in Puerto Vallarta’s Romantic Zone.

This event is being put on by the Puerto Vallarta – Highland Park Sister Cities Committee with the help of the Municipal President’s government, Profe Michel, to raise money to build a cultural house in the Ixtapa delegation.

The event will take place at the Lázaro Cárdenas park from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Twenty well-known restaurants will serve a variety of dishes, desserts, and drinks made with mangoes, a fruit that grows well in this area and is popular with Vallartans. In the past, there were about a thousand people, but this time they want to have more than that. Restaurants will get help from students at Vizcaya Vallarta University.

At a news conference, Ludvig Estrada Virgen, who is in charge of Tourism and Economic Development, said that the involvement of Vallarta gastronomy not only helps a good cause, but also brings a lot of attention to the tourist area.

“Puerto Vallarta is having a great year. Because of the marketing, months that were usually slow have been busy this year, and the numbers from previous years have been surpassed. We need to keep working, so it’s important to support these kinds of events.”

Paula Jiménez, president of the Puerto Vallarta-Highland Park Sister Cities Committee, thanked Professor Michel’s government for helping with projects that help the community, “for all the facilities they have given us to hold this festival.”

She said that the Mango Festival will come back after a three-year break because of the pandemic. It will be one of several events to raise money for building a cultural house in Ixtapa on land donated by the ejido of that demarcation. They hope to start this green project before the end of the year.
